Maintenance on 18 November 2008

Sorry guys for the last minute notice, but the scheduled maintenance will be from 4.30pm – 8pm approximately today!

Hi folks,
Our engineers will be performing regular maintenance on Yahoo! Answers on Wednesday (12 Nov) and Thursday (13 Nov), at 4.30pm.
We expect the work to last about 3.5 hours and Yahoo! Answers will be totally inaccessible during this time, except for the blog of course. 
Sorry for any inconvenience caused! We’ll keep you posted if there are any changes to the schedule.

Sorry about the downtime, it doesn’t happen daily of course but it will happen one more time tomorrow around the same time though. Really sorry about that! But at least the system will be more stable once the maintenance is over

You guys bother me to no end. Here it’s 19th at 17:00 and you’re taking another breather. Before I retired, we wouldn’t even think about telling others ” hey we’re taking a siesta ~ go pound sand!”. Perhaps you can improve your behavior.
@ Louis – Hmm.. that’s strange, Yahoo! Singapore Answers is working fine. Which Answers site did you access? Answers is a worldwide product, so while it may be 1700 hours in South East Asia, it’s early morning in Europe and night in the States. Most of the techy folks are in Europe hence when there’s maintenance to be done, it happens early morning Europe time, which also means evening our Asia time. Hope that helps to explain why the timing is not exactly desirable for us here.

A suggestion here…
Can Y!A Teams… Can your teams make appeal easy for users… I noticed that a lot of users get violate from Y!A Team… And most have difficult in appealed or after appeal no reply (answers) from Y!A Team…
